1966 Austin Healey 3000 Mark III BJ-8
The Austin-Healey 3000 MKIII BJ-8 Phase II Sports convertible signified the end of the line for Big Healey sports cars from 1953-67. This model was the most refined and developed of the series, as it was user friendly and the easiest one to drive. Added luxuries included arm bars, arm rests, walnut fascia dashboard, fold-down rear luggage shelf, power brakes, a quieter exhaust system, and it was all coupled with a 150bhp engine.
A total nut and bolt, ground up, rotisserie restoration has just been completed on this 1966 Austin-Healey 3000 MKIII BJ-8 sports convertible by premier marque specialist, Kurt Tanner Restorations. Finished in the highly attractive and popular color scheme of Metallic Golden Beige with red leather trim, black soft top, tonneau cover, and boot.
This car also boasts 60-spoke stainless wire wheels, a 4-speed overdrive gearbox, heater and adjustable steering wheel. Details of this spectacular restoration include show-quality, bare metal, body and two-stage paint work, new chrome, rubber, glass, complete interior re-trim in leather. The engine is completely rebuilt with ancillaries, resealed gearbox, rebuilt braking system with steel liners, rebuilt front and rear suspension, new exhaust, wiring harness, and new trunk kit.
All work has been carried out to the highest concours gold standard with absolute authenticity the goal. It is fully documented from the bare chassis, with documented photos taken at each stage and includes a BMIHT certificate as well as a fifth chrome wheel and owner’s manual.
